Workplace culture is always important, but during the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been imperative for our associates to feel appreciated and inspired.  We are proud of the programs we have in place to boost our associates, as well as the new programs we’ve implemented in the past year to address the changing workplace. We’re also honored to be recognized by Achievers as one of the 50 Most Engaged Workplaces® for our efforts, but it’s our associates who made the recognition possible.

Applause.jpgMedxcel has intentionally developed our culture through our “Engage!” program that is based on our Mission, Vision and Values. Last year, every associate was trained in Engage! under an accelerated timeline due to COVID-19. With many people working from home, it was as important as ever to train associates on our culture and ensure they felt both included and understood.

Without shared in-person experiences, we made intentional connections with associates working from home. Two small examples were by holding a number of virtual events and sending blankets to everyone around Christmas as a tangible comfort item and thank you for all their hard work.
Additionally, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) has always been an important element of our culture, but 2020 highlighted the need for a more robust program. We established “ABIDE” to incorporate our DEI work directly into our overall company culture. ABIDE, which stands for Appreciation, Belongingness, Inclusivity, Diversity and Equity, allows us to target specific diversity initiatives through internal communications.

Our organization’s Common Purpose is that “we support life’s moments by enabling safe and healthy environments for our community.” It demonstrates why our customer experience should be at an emotional level. Leaders recognize associates who demonstrate our Common Purpose in a special way during their day-to-day work via the “Medxcel Moment” program. Created as a direct result from associate feedback, Medxcel Moment has both a physical recognition component through a certificate and an online recognition component via a system called Sparx. All Medxcel Moment recipients are also considered for the “Moment of the Month,” where, upon executive review, they’ll be recognized in company-wide communication channels.

These are a tiny portion of our associate engagement programs, and we continue to grow and adapt these as Medxcel continues to grow. Medxcel’s associates are frontline care providers. The past year and a half has seen an all-hands-on-deck mentality from everyone. Throughout the pandemic, we have made a concerted effort to maintain and strengthen our culture to engage our associates and keep us connected during a difficult time.

Thank you to our associates who continue to work hard day in and day out.
